The House of Arts and Culture
Dar Ebla

What is Dar Ebla?
A creative space where Syrian stories are told through art, memory, and narrative.
We're here to preserve what matters, build what connects, and share what heals.

At Ebla
At Ebla, we turn personal and collective memory into artistic and literary expression to preserve memory, build community, and imagine a shared cultural future.

Why do we do what we do?
Because every story deserves to be told and heard.
because we deserve to connect, to process, to express, to speak out.

Fig Gardens
Dumya
Fig Gardens is an environmental and narrative initiative dedicated to commemorating the departed and the victims of violence throughout Syria.
Operating across different Syrian regions, and in collaboration with local communities and partners, its goal is to preserve the memory of victims by transforming remembrance into a living and growing body, a tangible embodiment of memory and continuity.
These gardens serve as environmental museums of memory, locally managed by community members themselves, yet supported by people, women and men—across all regions.
Completed Gardens:
The First Fig Garden – Deir Mar Musa Monastery
The Second Fig Garden – Heesh, Idlib Countryside
Foundation Tree of the Third Fig Garden – Kafr Sousa, Damascus
Malmah is a training, cultural, artistic, and educational project within Ebla, designed to empower Syrian individuals, especially those affected by war and displacement, through the art of photography.
The project provides instruction in both classical and modern photographic techniques, helping participants document their experiences and stories through visual expression.
As a collaborative platform for visual storytelling, Malmah aims to preserve Syria’s photographic narrative heritage and reestablish photography as a medium for empowerment, documentation, reconciliation, and recovery.
Located in Hamouriyah, Eastern Ghouta (Rural Damascus), Malmah functions as a creative training hub that fosters cultural participation and rebuilds the community’s ability to see and represent itself.
A community art space offering children and young people a safe place to share their stories through interactive artistic workshops. Rooted in the belief that their voices are vital to Syria's narrative and collective memory, the center nurtures creative expression and fosters connections between children and adults in safe environments such as family and school. It challenges the misconception of youth as mere victims, transforming them into active participants in preserving stories and memory.
By providing storytelling and artistic tools, the center encourages intergenerational dialogue, helping children engage with their community, contribute to healing, and reshape how we understand childhood.
